That wasn't the highlight of the evening per se, but how nice to be able to sit outside and not get heat stroke from lifting a glass!
Besides the friendship, the food and the fun, the thing I enjoy most about these evenings together is talking just enough shop for there to be great ideas spawned and new business introductions justified. For instance, a certain in-the-works brewpub owner might be in the market for a security system. Wait a minute, I have a friend who owns a security system - I'll put him in touch! I was more subtle than that, and it's not that they will do business necessarily, but I think it's important to gather and talk and hear about each others' enterprises and brainstorm a solution or two. We are all in different fields, but I am amazed every P.S. Monday at the overlay that exists between the business sectors represented here.
The evidence of the evening...
| Bob S. vs. barman. Only took four bar-people to order one beer. |
| Kristine, Christina and Dan the Man (new chef at The Wrecking Bar). |
| Foreground - Marci (welcome!), then Tami, Geoffrey, Cooper (too busy to pose), Rebecca, Robbi and Dan. |
| Never sat at this end of the table, but looks like they were having fun... |
